Fishing report August 21st - 23rd

Well, it was a rainy weekend to say the least.  Almost 4 inches of rain.  I did manage to get some fishing in, but Mrs. Lunker Hunter did not.  So, there are no fish pics.  Saturday morning I fished 5 hours and caught 18 bass.  Biggest was probably two and one half pounds, nothing special.  Fished most of the usual bays I like.  Headed out again around four o'clock.  Could only stay our 45 minutes before the rain rolled in.  Caught one scrappy smallmouth near conger island.  No fishing after dinner due to rain.  For Sunday, I didn't get out until 10am, even though a light rain.  Fished until 3:45, the last two hours were hard rain.  I got soaking wet, but I NEEDED to fish.  Spent some time at Upper Deep Bay west and Conger Island.  Caught a few there.  Decided to spend most of the time trying new spots around Elizabeth Island and Thompson Island.  Didn't do too well.  Caught a couple.  Ended up with 9 fish for the day.  No Lunkers!  Didn't fish Monday morning.  It rained all night and in the morning.  The rain didn't let up until around noon.  This is the first time this year we have seen so much rain for a weekend.  We've been spoiled most of this summer with GREAT sunny weather (until this weekend that is).  So, to wrap-up, I had 28 bass for the weekend with none over three pounds.  Denise read a lot of books.  ha ha.  Until next time...
