Fishing report August 28th - 29th

Arrived at the cottage Friday night to find the water level had rose at least 18 ".  It's amazing that the water level rose every day from last weekends rain.  It came up two more inches this weekend even though it didn't rain either day.  Saturday - I started out at Orchard Bay at 6:45 am.  I was able to fish all the way around Snake Island thanks to the high water.  Caught 6 bass there.  Went to Lower Deep and only caught 2 bass.    Struck out at M.P. Bay and Dwaynes.  Went back to pick up Denise then headed to Apple Island.  Caught two bass there.  Ten bass for the morning.   It was a warm a sunny day, with s/w winds about 10 - 15 mph.  In the evening we headed to The Cut around 6:45 pm and fished until 8:10 pm.  We caught 6 bass there.  Had a decent 3 pounder that looked like it was on a diet.  For the day we had 16 total bass.  Winds made fishing difficult and the action is on the slow side.  Sunday -  Fished 6:15 am to 12:00 pm.  Spent most of my time at Conger Island.  Landed 6 bass there.  I was able to work in deep with the high water.  Went to Browns Bay and worked in deep also.  It didn't produce that well because I only caught 2 bass in there.  Went to Conger east for the last 15 minutes and caught 1.  That makes 25 total bass for the weekend.  The action has definately slowed down the past couple weeks.  The high water may have something to do with it.  We are supposed to have a heat wave the next 3 to 4 days.  Forecast is for upper 80's until next Saturday when temps are supposed to return to the low 70's.  Today, the WHEC TV weather reported that this year, from March though August, it has been the second warmest time period since 120 years ago.  Amazing!  It's been a great summer folks!  That wraps up another fishing report at Black Lake.  Until next time...
