Fishing report Oct 7th to 9th
Denise with a bass on a beautiful fall day.
Last lunker for the season! 3 lb 8 oz Oct 8th. Browns Bay. Denise caught a 2 lb 8 oz at the same time for a nice double header.
Well, this is the last fishing report of the 2011 season. We had a spectacular Indian Summer weekend to wrap up the season. Just couldn't ask for better weather. The lake's water level is low to normal, which is great compared to last years extremely high water. Friday the 7th I fished alone and caught 8 bass. Best for the day was a 3 lb even smallmouth. Saturday the 8th we caught 11 bass and 1 small pike. Evening fishing was better than morning. Best for the day was a 3 lb 8 oz largemouth caught in Browns Bay. Didn't fish much there all year but it was pretty good right around sunset. We had one double header. Sunday the 9th we could only fish for one hour because we had to take the boat out bright and early. Caught 3 bass in Browns Bay again. So 22 total bass for the weekend. Another great year in the books! 738 bass caught and released. Best was 4 lbs 3 oz. Still searching for the 5 pounder! Until next year folks... Fish On!

Oct 1st & 2nd fishing report
Black Lake October 2, 2011
It was tough fishing this weekend. Overcast, windy and rainy weather both days. High temperature on Saturday was only 47 degrees. I managed to fish Saturday from 8 am to 1:30 pm. I only caught 11 bass. Caught 1 pike too. I had to stay near Conger Island the whole time due to high winds. No fishing on Sunday. Went home early. Next weekend will be the last fishing of the year. Time to close the cottage. Until next week folks... Fish On!
