July 16 & 17 fishing report

Sunrise

 4 lb 2 oz Largemouth Bass at Jennies Island

Short fishing trip.  Weather was hot and humid again.  Had a few brief rain showers but they didn't last long. 
Sunday 15th -  Arrived Sunday afternoon.  No fishing today.  Just relaxing on the deck.
Monday 16th -  Fished 5:30 am to 11:00 am.  Action was decent.  Caught 17 bass.  Landed a nice 4 lb 2 oz largermouth near Jennies Island at 6:30am.  Fished 7:00 pm to to 8:30 pm.  Very windy!  Had to take cover from the wind and only managed 1 bass.
Tuesday 17th - Had some early rain but didn't last long again.  The lake level is as low as I've ever seen it.  We really need a few inches of rain!  Fished 8:30 am to 11:00 am.  Fished around Conger Island the whole time to stay protected from the high winds.  Only caught 4 bass.  One was a decent fighting smallmouth.

22 total bass for the trip.  Not the greatest.  But better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.  Until next time...

July 4 - July 6 fishing report

Fourth of July Holiday report.  We were only able to fish two days.  But you can see in the above pic, a big largemouth was caught!

Wednesday the 4th -  Fishing was a little slow in the morning.  Fished 7:30 am to 1:15 pm.  The weather was great but only caught 11 bass.  Went out again from 7:15 pm - 8:45 pm.  Went to Upper Deep Bay, way back in near the rocks and Denise caught a 4 lb 3 oz.  It is her personal best!!!!!!!!  Beating her old best by 1 ounce.  This made our day!  She was quite excited.  Only caught 4 other small bass and a sunfish.
16 total bass for the day.
Thursday the 5th -   Fished 6:30 am to 11:50 am.  Beautiful morning!  Fished Dwaynes Island, Crab Island and Fish Creek.  Only caught 8 bass.  Nothing special.  Fished again 7:00 pm to 8:50 pm.  Only caught 5 bass.  Total 13 bass for the day.  29 total bass for the weekend.
Friday the 6th -  NO FISHING TODAY!  Had to leave for a business trip to Germany.  Next fishing report will be delayed until the week of July 16.  Until next time...

June 29 - July 1 fishing report

Long weekend report.  VERY WINDY first two days.  Couldn't fish much. 

Friday 29th:  9 bass for the day.  Fished 6:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Got real windy.  Had to get off the lake.  No evening fishing.
Saturday 30th:  6 bass for the day.  Got blown off the lake again.  WINDY WINDY WINDY.  Took our grand doggy Bella out in the boat for the first time this year.  She really likes watching us fish and going for boat rides.  LOL.
Sunday July 1st:  12 bass for the morning.  Nice morning, no wind finally.  Sunny.  Brian's best, 3 lb 9 oz.

Note to Mother Nature - PLEASE BRING SOME RAIN!!!  Lake level is still LOW!

June 16th - 24th fishing report

A great week for the opening of bass season 2012!  Here are our choice pics of the week.

Well, we had great weather for the first week of bass season.  Water level is low.  The bass bite was about average.
Saturday 16th:  33 bass for the day.  Brian's best, 3 lb 5 oz, 3 lb 14 oz.  Denise's best, 3 lb even smally.
Sunday 17th:   40 bass for the day.  Brian's best, 4 lb 9 oz, 3 lb 1 oz, 3 lb 7 oz.  1 double header.  Landed some stocky bass the first two days!
Monday 18th:  28 bass for the day. Denises's best, 3 lb 2 oz lunker of the day. We had 2 double headers.
Tuesday 19th:  17 bass for the day.  Finally got some rain early in the morning.  Wind picked up in the afternoon forcing us to fish south of Apple Island.  The bite was really slow.
Wednesday 20th:  36 bass for the day.  Brian's best, 3 lb 9 oz, 3 lb 5 oz, 3 lb 3 oz.  Denise just shy of 3 lbs with a 2 lb 14 oz.  Blazing hot sun today!  Light wind in the a.m., wind picked up in the afternoon.
Thursday 21st:  7 bass for the day.  Suckiest fishing day of the week.  Got real windy!  Only fished in the morning, no after dinner fishing today.
Friday 22nd:  21 bass for the day.  Put in a lot of hours today, but the bite is slow.  No 3 pounders.
Saturday 23rd:  30 bass for the day.  No 3 pounders.  1 double header.  Brief 5 minute downpour.
Sunday 24th:  14 bass for the morning.  Hot and sunny!
Wrap up-  216 total bass for the week.  9 bass over 3 lbs.  1 bass over 4 lbs.  Still searching for a 5 pound lunker.  All and all a great opening week again!  Weather was awesome!  But we really need some rain to get the lake level up.  Till next time...

Opened Cottage 2012

Opened the cottage May 19th for the 2012 season.  Great weather!  Temps in the 80's for Saturday and Sunday.  No rain.  Plan on putting in the dock and boat Memorial Day weekend.

Dash for Cash 2012 Announcement

1/31/2012- The Log Cabins announced this years Dash for Cash Tournament will be Sunday, September 16th.  Launch time will be 6:25 a.m.  Maximum entries will be 136 teams again.

2/16/2012-  Received team #17 postcard. (last year we were #16)
